How Nancy Andrews Helped Fulfill a Dream and Shape Echo’s Future
At Echo, we believe our greatest asset is our people—and few embody the spirit of leadership, innovation, and mentorship quite like Nancy Andrews, our Chief Operating Officer. With an extensive and impressive career built on collaboration, strategic thinking, and a commitment to empowering others, Nancy has been a driving force behind Echo’s success for almost two decades. Her journey is one of passion, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
A Legacy of Leadership
Nancy’s career is a testament to her ability to lead with vision and heart. In 18 years with Echo, she has worn many hats, each time leaving a lasting impression on the company’s growth and culture. Her expertise spans operations, strategy, and team development, making her a cornerstone of Echo’s success. Before her return as COO, Nancy’s contributions had already helped shape Echo into a powerhouse of creativity and innovation.
A Mentor Who Inspires
Nancy’s impact is felt in every corner of the company, largely because of her ability to lead and mentor others. She has a unique ability to see potential in others and guide them toward achieving it. Many of Echo’s team members credit Nancy for helping them grow professionally and personally. Her door is always open, her advice is always thoughtful, and her belief in her team is unwavering.
As Vivian Slater, Managing Director, put it, “Nancy doesn’t just lead; she inspires. She challenges you to be your best self and gives you the tools to get there.” This dedication to mentorship has created a ripple effect, with Nancy’s influence shaping both individuals and the entire company culture.
A New Chapter for Echo
When Nancy decided to step away from Echo after 18 years, it was a moment of reflection and renewal. She sought to explore new opportunities, expand her knowledge, and find fresh inspiration. Her departure coincided with a pivotal moment in Echo’s history: the company’s acquisition by Andrew Vo, a leader who had long admired Nancy’s work and vision.
Andrew was deeply disappointed to learn of Nancy’s departure during the acquisition process. Recognizing the invaluable role she played in Echo’s success, he knew he had to act quickly to keep her expertise within the company. Andrew reached out to Nancy, asking her to return as a freelance consultant to help lead the transition and ramp-up of the “new Echo.”
Three months later, it became clear that Nancy’s impact was too significant to be part-time. Andrew offered her a full-time role, this time as Chief Operating Officer—a promotion recognizing her years of dedication and pivotal role in shaping Echo’s future.
Why Nancy Matters to Echo and Andrew Vo
Nancy’s return was more than just a win for Echo; it was a testament to her enduring legacy and the respect she commands. For Andrew, Nancy represents a trusted leader who helped shape him into the marketer he is today.
Andrew credits Nancy and three others at Echo for his professional growth. The list also includes Vivian Slater, Gabe Reynaga, Senior Vice President, and Sabrina Suarez, former SVP. Andrew likes to say, “Nancy is 1/4 of who I am today.” Her vision, expertise, and mentorship were key to why Andrew was drawn to purchase the company in the first place. He saw in Nancy—and the entire Echo team—a group of “unicorns,” the best of the best, who could help him fulfill his dream of owning a digital agency.
Looking Ahead
Today, Nancy is more inspired than ever, embracing the “new Echo” with the same enthusiasm and dedication that have defined her career. Her journey reminds us that growth often comes from stepping away, exploring new horizons, and returning with fresh perspectives.
We’re thrilled to have Nancy back at Echo, leading the charge as COO and continuing to inspire us all. Echo wouldn’t be the same without her.
